Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about playing Find The Slop, the leaderboard, and spotting AI images.

What is Find The Slop?

+

Find The Slop is a free browser game where you guess whether each image is a real photograph or AI-generated art. You build a streak with correct guesses and can compete on the public leaderboard.

How do you play Find The Slop?

+

Each round shows one image. Tap “Real Photo” or “AI Generated.” If you are right, your streak grows; if you are wrong, the streak resets. Sign in with Google if you want your best streak saved to the leaderboard.

What does “AI slop” mean?

+

People use “AI slop” for generic or low-effort AI images—often smooth, uncanny, or repetitive. The game is a fun way to train your eye for those tells, not a technical definition of any single model.

Is Find The Slop free?

+

Yes. You can play without paying. Creating an account is optional and only needed if you want leaderboard placement and profile stats.

Do I need an account to play Find The Slop?

+

No. You can play as a guest. Sign in with Google when you want your username and best streak to appear on the leaderboard.

How does the Find The Slop leaderboard work?

+

The leaderboard ranks players by their longest correct streak in a row (“best in a row”). You can also see accuracy on the full leaderboard page once you have enough guesses recorded.

Are the images in the game real or AI?

+

Each round is one or the other—there is always a correct answer. The mix is designed to challenge both beginners and people who already follow AI image trends.

Which AI model generates the synthetic images?

+

For now every AI-generated image is created with Black Forest Labs through Flux Pro only. We plan to add more models and providers over time so the game reflects a wider range of generators and artifacts.

How can I get better at spotting AI-generated images?

+

Look for unnatural hands, teeth, text, symmetry, lighting, and fine detail that smears or repeats. Real photos usually have consistent sensor noise and physics; AI images often break on small structures or edges.

What counts as a streak?

+

Your streak is how many guesses you have gotten correct in a row during the current run. One wrong guess resets it to zero; your profile also stores your all-time best streak for the leaderboard.

Is this an AI image detector?

+

No. Find The Slop is a game for humans. It does not classify images for you—you make the call. For automated detection you would use dedicated tools or APIs built for that purpose.
